When She Said I Do Worthington Celeste Bradley 9781250016126 Books

That first scene when the heroine sneak into his room and they have the erotic jewelry scene was amazing! But the rest of the book was sleepy, slow, and uninteresting after that. The intrigues failed to intrigue me, and the love scenes were more graphic than romantic. I appreciate that some people enjoy the more graphic-type love scenes, but when the honeymoon scene had her going (ahem) onto her stomach, it felt fake because they hadn't had a chance to progress to that level, first. I tend to prefer novels where there is more of a build-up/development of trust between hero and heroine before the kink starts, but that is just this one reader's taste.

Also, the whole plot about her planning an elaborate ball at his castle without telling him was really dumb--I found myself skimming that part because it was so slow and uninteresting. But again that is me--I'm sure there are readers out there who enjoyed it! :)

When She Said I Do Worthington Celeste Bradley 9781250016126 Books Reviews

I was waiting for Ren's story for sometime.
Celeste has handled the story very nicely, it is difficult to shed romantic light over a man who is both physically and emotionally scarred. Celeste has gradually peeled his hatred towards life layer by layer giving him the light at end of the tunnel.
I almost do not read the book after reading a very negative review. The person that wrote the review obviously did not get the book, I'm not even sure she read it! It was funny, cute, sexy and it did what this type of book should do entertain, take your mind from troubles while having fun....
and why not dream a bit.
I like Celeste Bradley and this has to be one of my favorites. I did not realize that this was a connected story and that I would know some of the characters. that is a good thing in my opinion. the story is wonderful and similar to a beauty and the beast plot but with originality and some hot scenes. Bradley writes well and the book is over before you know it.
If you don't mind that the general premise is a little ludicrous and sex scenes explicit in parts, then there is no reason you won't enjoy this.
The first in the Worthington series features the said (slightly insane) family, which has many, many children to base the series around.
As a one off I felt it was ok and I did enjoy most of the book but I doubt I will read any of the others.
This is one of the best books I have ever read in this genre. The first that I rated 5 stars. I have already recommended this book too my friends. It was a great story, combined with fantastic characterizations not usually found in romance novels. I hated to see 90% complete show up on my kindle. I would like too add one more thought... yes, there were many romantic love scenes throughout this fast paced novel... it seems that some of the readers found these scenes offensive... I can only conclude that their love lives must be very boring... nothing is offensive as long as both parties are willing.
Wow...was I pleasantly surprised by my first Celeste Bradley novel. It was an awesome Beauty and the Beast themed tale! Well written with the story just leaping off the pages. It had all the right ingredients to keep me happy.....scarred dominant alpha male hero, plucky and quirky heroine, a great supporting cast of characters, a bit of intrigue, some laugh out loud moments and really hot steamy sex. The main characters are well developed, multidimensional and interesting. I was sorry when the end was near and I had to say goodbye to this engaging read.
I'll be looking for more Celeste Bradley books in the near future and hope they are just as much fun.
I feel like Fifty Shades of Gray started a trend or something, lol.

I purchased this book because, well, I love romance novels and because beauty and the beast has *always* been my favorite fairy tale - even before Disney got it's hands on it.

All in all - it doesn't really disappoint. Parts of it are a teensy-tiny bit confusing but I rather enjoyed this for the most part. I actually couldn't put it down and found it very engaging and read it through the night until morning. Which is *not* a common occurrence! ) However, there are a few things that are a bit weird for me - and it's not even the kinky sex parts!

Callie and her family are trying to escape a terrible storm and take refuge in a castle. She wanders up to a room (because that's obviously what you do in someone else's house - snoop and purloin the jewelry box) and sees a man behind her (Ren) whom she at first thinks might be something supernatural. He's drunk and thinks *she's* a spirit or an angel. And that part I kind of get. What confounds me is that he then starts having his way with her (basically) and she's fine with it?? Really??? I don't care how attractive the good half of his face is - I can't imagine any woman not screaming her head off or at least being frozen with fear at this. But she's into it.

And then there's her family. I get Callie's 12-year-old sister erroneously thinking she's trying to save her from a forced marriage - though the "murder the groom" aspect might be a tiny bit far fetched. But her brother Dade is representative of one of the things I hate about romances, particularly of the regency kind he is so stubborn, so arrogant, and so spiteful that he's plain unlikeable. He's made to be so absurdly bad and almost one-dimensional that I just couldn't stand him. And her parents let her marry some guy she's known for like 20 minutes just to save her brother??? She's already a "spinster", it's not like her reputation is *really* going to be in tatters. I know I'm looking at it through the lenses of today but I just cannot see any parent willingly let their parent marry someone under those circumstances.

Yes, the sex is a bit on the kinky side and a little brow-raising at times but nothing too crazy. For me the most important part is that a book is funny and I thought this one very entertaining and found myself smiling often.
