There are a lot of questions that come up in the area of home defense and this book has answered everything I could want already, and I have only read a small portion so far. To begin with, It has the entire current Texas Gun laws for the year it was printed laid out verbatim in an appendix. This makes looking up exactly what the law says VERY easy. Next, it has a long list of what if scenarios on times when you might consider shooting at someone. These pose a question for the reader to consider, and then you can read the author's suggested answer on the next page. These questions alone make the book worth the money! Lastly, it contains detailed chapters that go through several subjects that come up quite often in gun ownership conversation.All told, I think this book takes a very comprehensive approach to examining the rights, responsibilities and potential consequences of owning a gun in Texas. I spent a great deal of time trying to find satisfactory answers on internet forums and other online resources. After exhaustive searching, all I could find was hearsay and "probable" explanations. I finally decided to spend some money to answer the questions and this book has hit the nail on the head and told me everything I wanted to know. Buy it and be informed! You will be glad you did should you ever find yourself armed and wondering whether you should shoot someone or not. The law is only sometimes on your side!

A fellow CHL instructor told me about this book. I bought it, I read it, I use it in my class as a reference. I certainly recommend it to all CHL holders.
This book is easy to understand and written in a way that gives direct answers. Unfortunately a few of the laws have changed since it was written, making it out of date. That's the problem with hard copy. I would say that 95% is still correct. I recommend it as a good way to have the applicable laws clearly explained and easy to find. Organized well.
