For the most part I liked it although it was not all that deep. It was a quick read. One of the things that I didn't like was all the manipulation that Cassie's parents, especially her mother did. And for a woman with spunk Cassie was quicker to let it go than I thought was possible. Sure at one point she refused to talk to them for a week, but then all of a sudden it was as if all was forgiven. That was a bit hard to believe. Even Nathanial's parents get into the act too. And why would her parents want her to marry a boozing, womanizing man? Lifelong friendships between the two mother just isn't a good enough reason. I know everyone thought that a strong woman (Cassie) could bring him to change but really? That's a dangerous idea in general.Sure, towards the end of the book there were more moments of sweetness so that helped the story.

Cassie Brides of the Rockies Book 1 edition by Carré White Romance eBooks Reviews
An immature main character, a drunk suitor, loving parents who think it's ok to push a marriage to an unemployed drunk... I didn't like the story nor could I find a reason to like the characters. I forced myself to finish the book, but rather wish I hadn't wasted my time.
They say the line between love and hate is very thin. Cassie and Nathaniel s story bring this out.Nate really loved her all along but she didn't realise til I think he starting changing. Then after their how he took such good care of her when she was sick.
Nice, easy read. I thought Nate was an interesting character. Cassie, on the other hand, was a little scatter-brained. I enjoyed reading this book and would be interested in reading more by this author.
Me. White takes adversaries on a funny road to love. Mate showing love in all the wrong ways and Cassie resisting makes a funny page turning delight. Witty dialogue and antics make this a worthwhile read. I would recommend this if you want to smile. Great job.
... but I took issue with Cassie's family and friends pushing her toward a man she was not really interested it. Of course, her feelings change and develop but then she lets her pride get in the way. Wish was there was some more character development and insight for Nate. Parts of the story felt a bit rushed and undeveloped but as a quick read that suspends reality for a short time, it wasn't a horrible read.
A rather cute if not quite totally believable story of a young couple that were once "enemies" in school...ending up married. Although a few things happened rather too "quickly" for me to believe they'd happen in real life, this, after all is fiction so.... I did think it possible for the story to occur - in fact know that it has - but not quite as easily or fast as in the book. It was okay, but Cassie simply turned from despising Nathan into a girl who was fighting her feelings for him much too easily for me to believe. Sorry.
This was an enjoyable book, but it's lacking quite a bit. Neither of the two main characters are very likable and there is no real journey for how they end up together. It is just lacking so much to make it a great read.
